For fans of Canadian “news site” The Beaverton, you can look forward to hearing the same fake headlines and cynical commentary from the small screen.
The Beaverton TV show is set to premieres Nov. 9 on The Comedy Network, the network announced on Tuesday.
The show will debut the night after the U.S. Presidential election, right before The Daily Show.
Co-hosts Emma Hunter and Miguel Rivas will lead the 13-episode, half-hour satirical series, with help from “reporters” Aisha Alfa, Donavon Stinson, Laura Cilevitz and Marilla Wex.
"The Beaverton has recruited some of the most talented Canadian comedians to provide a unique spin on headlines and newsmakers," said senior vice-president of production Corrie Coe. "Alongside our quick-witted co-anchors Emma and Miguel, The Beaverton will deliver unapologetic satire about the world's hottest topics. Sorry. Not sorry. With love, Canada."
The Beaverton is set to cover topics like the U.S. militia protecting its border from Canadian Black Friday shoppers, Canada moving to Canadian Tire money as its national currency and Don Cherry unveiling a new clothing line for women.
