A moisturizer from a natural health brand has been recalled by Health Canada due to Candida yeast contamination.
Young Living Essential Oils Orange Blossom Moisturizer has been recalled across Canada. Health Canada issued the notice yesterday, saying that the recalled product contains Candida yeast, which can cause fungal infections in individuals whose skin and/or immune system is compromised.
As of June 13, 2019, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. There have been five international reports of skin irritation.
The health authority says that about 792 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between April 6 and April 18, 2019. Only lot number 992212728 is affected by this recall, says Health Canada.
The moisturizer is manufactured in the United States.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Young Living for prepaid packaging to return product for disposal and refund. Consumers can contact Young Living Canada toll free at 1-844-760-2123.
