Police seize over 7,000 illegal plants in Saskatchewan

Police in Saskatchewan seized over 7,000 illegal plants from a large scale grow-operation on Thursday.

The Blaine Lake RCMP, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit and the RCMP Emergency Response Team executed three Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrants yesterday in Marcelin and Saskatoon. The warrants followed an extensive investigation into a large-scale illegal grow-op at a rural property south of Marcelin.

The first warrant saw RCMP arrest Three individuals on the property while over 7,000 marijuana plants were seized from the location.

During the second warrant members of the Emergency Response Team seized bank and phone records, a cell phone and a laptop.

The third warrant was executed at a different residence though nothing was seized.

No charges have yet been laid as the investigation is still on going. Updates will be provided when they become available.
