It was euthanized on Sunday.

Resource conservation manager Bill Hunt said another grizzly – this one a male – was hit by a semi on Hwy 93 South near the Trans-Canada Highway on June 4.

Ten days before the female was hit, there were reports of bears near the interchange between the Sunshine road and the Trans-Canada Highway.

Blood was later found on the pavement.

Hunt wants drivers passing through Banff to obey the 90 km/h speed limit.
