Canadian employees of Walmart will soon have a little extra money coming their way for the holidays.
Walmart Canada announced today that all active store, distribution centre and fleet associates will receive a new ‘appreciation bonus’.
On Dec. 11, full-time employees will get $250, while part-time employees will get $150.
According to the company, more than 85,000 employees will be receiving an appreciation bonus.
Walmart’s president and CEO, Horacio Barbeito says that employees across the country have stepped up and led throughout the pandemic.
“Every day, I hear stories about our associates going above and beyond and I am proud and grateful,” he explained.
“It continues to be a privilege and a tremendous responsibility to be providing an essential service for our communities.”
Walmart Canada says it’s hired more than 20,000 new employees across the country during the pandemic to best serve the needs of Canadians, all the while prioritizing safety.
