The YMCA of Okanagan has exciting opportunities for anyone who wants a fulfilling career as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE).
With the approved plans for a YMCA child care centre on Dilworth Mountain, the YMCA of Okanagan's child care division is officially growing and because of this, they're in need of qualified and/or aspiring ECE's!
If you love children and are interested in pursuing a career in childhood education, here are two reasons to consider this exciting career opportunity.
The YMCA of Okanagan is offering an exciting Child Care Training Opportunity to those looking to obtain and advance their career as an ECE - AND they'll even pay for your education! So when you think of it, you'll get to inspire young minds, be creative, have fun, gain an education towards a life-long rewarding career AND obtain this career that has a pension plan with benefits.
The ECE course, which is 12 to 18 months, is an approximate cost of $15,000... but if you're the right person for the job, not only will the YMCA of Okanagan pay for your education (we know, we mentioned that, but c'mon, it's $15,000 that you won't have to pay), but they will also provide you with employment throughout the duration of your journey into becoming an ECE and while you are taking courses and working, you will have the support of ECE professionals who will support your learning.
This video shows a little snippet from the life of an ECE at the YMCA of Okanagan.
This video was filmed before the COVID-19 pandemic. Social gatherings look a little different right now.
Along with this lifestyle seen in the video above, a career as an ECE with the YMCA of Okanagan has many added benefits, including:
Along with the new Dilworth Park location, the YMCA of Okanagan has other centres within its future plans, and therefore, they're currently in need of ECE’s and there are immediate casual, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities available.
The YMCA of Okanagan will also pay for advanced certifications for current ECE's – including ECE IT (Infant Toddler) as well as specialized training in Supportive Development.
If you're a certified ECE and want to advance your career with a pension and benefits plan, the YMCA of Okanagan will also employ you while you advance your knowledge and certification.
To anyone who is a qualified ECE, wants to change their career or who loves children and is interested in pursuing a career in childhood education, please consider this exciting new growth opportunity with the YMCA of Okanagan.
