Save the date – the first annual Miracle on Okanagan Fundraising Gala is taking place on Dec. 3 at 5:30 pm at the Laurel Packinghouse.
All proceeds from the event go towards providing Delivering Sunshine holiday care packages for patients in Okanagan care facilities, such as hospitals and nursing and palliative homes, as well as to the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon to support families navigating critically-ill children.
The gala includes dinner by The Art of Fine Catering, live music from the local dance band Rock Steady, and a silent auction.
Delivering Sunshine care packages are research-based and hospital friendly, and they contain diverse and inclusive products from small Canadian businesses. The holiday packages funded by this event will be distributed Dec. 24-25.
Ashley Bondar founded Delivering Sunshine after her newborn was unexpectedly hospitalized for an extended length of time in 2021.
“I identified a need to provide additional support to those receiving care or caring for someone in a care facility,” she explains.
“Hospitals can be extremely lonely, which is why we are dedicated to providing practical and thoughtful ways to support family and friends.”
