Faces of Kelowna: Commercial Cleaning

Commit now and figure the rest out as you go. As a professional and personal mantra, this has served Andreas Tietbohl well.

“It drives my fiancée nuts,” says Andreas with a laugh. “But, it works for me. On October 5, 2021, I committed 100% to Indoor Restore Group, starting the commercial cleaning company from scratch. Now we have operations in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Calgary, Chilliwack, Vancouver, and Vernon, and my goal is to build one of the largest commercial cleaning companies in North America.”

Indoor Restore Group’s client list is impressive, with many well-known restaurants.

“I had the vision to own my own business, be an entrepreneur,” says Andreas. “If you have a vision and belief in yourself and take action and work hard, you will have success. Yes, you have to learn and try new things and sometimes fail. But, if you commit, you will figure it all out.”

After 16 years of working in the oil patch, Andreas’ ah-ha moment came shortly after when he was working for a drywall company doing sales and deliveries. A client asked Andreas if he did post-construction clean-up. Andreas had never done post-construction cleaning before, but decided to say ‘yes’ and took on the job. That was the genesis of his commercial cleaning company, and Indoor Restore was born.

Andreas’ positive energy and attitude served him well as he launched the business and knocked on the doors of 20 businesses by noon each day to land his first clients.

“Today, we do the commercial cleaning at 25 locations, and we have 40 employees,” says Andreas. “We make sure we hire the right people who align with our core values of persistence, honesty, humour, hard work, and positivity. We treat employees with respect and pay them well.”

Indoor Restore Group uses cleaning software and an app to scale up the company and ensure quality cleaning and customer service. The app has a cleaning checklist for every location and a section for employees to upload photos after cleaning to foster accountability and guarantee quality.

“We’re not perfect. No one is,” admits Andreas. “But, if something’s not right, we own it and fix it right away. My clients know I will bend over backwards for them.”

Part of Andreas’ success has also been having the right mentors. Some of the well-known names are Grant Cardone, Bob Proctor, and Tony Robbins.
