In this episode, Rob Capello and Trisha Miltimore explored how to navigate the common roadblocks that hinder personal and professional growth, rediscovering what truly matters and creating a fulfilling life.
Instead of striving for a flawless equilibrium, Trish emphasized the importance of aiming for elevation.
One of the first vultures Trish identified was the voice that says, "Who am I to think I can?" She explained that this vulture feeds on self-doubt and can erode confidence if left unchecked.
"When you hear that voice," she advised, "stop and reframe it. Ask yourself instead, ‘Who am I to think I can’t?’ You deserve to try."
Rob shared his struggles with self-doubt, revealing how fear of failure had held him back in the past. "Sometimes, I’ve questioned if I was even capable of doing what I set out to do," he admitted.
Trish reassured him and others facing similar challenges: "The worst that can happen is you’re redirected. Even failure can be a stepping stone to something greater."
The pair also delved into the social vulture: the fear of what others might think. "This one is universal," Trish said. "We all worry about how we’re perceived, but instead of fixating on what others might say, ask yourself, ‘Who will I inspire by showing up as my authentic self?’"
She shared a personal story about overcoming criticism after a presentation, explaining how sticking to her path ultimately inspired others.
Beyond tackling the vultures, Trish offered actionable advice for creating alignment in daily life.
She suggested writing down three key priorities; whether it’s health, family, or impact and keeping them visible as a constant reminder. "If you’re making choices that align with these priorities, you’re much more likely to feel fulfilled," she said.
With these insights, the episode left listeners with a roadmap to overcome roadblocks, stay aligned, and create a life of purpose.
