The Faces of Solar Power: Bryce Hayes, Forrest Tymchuk and Daniel Graham

The future of solar is bright.

And Western Canada is just now starting to tap into this magic.

"The magic of solar comes from a feeling and experience when a system so passive and simple can make such a large impact," says Bryce Hayes, an employee owner and residential sales manager at SkyFire Energy.

"The magic is also felt again when homeowners receive their first electricity bill and see they sold more to the grid than they purchased."

SkyFire Energy, which has operations in the Okanagan, Calgary, Edmonton and Regina, designs, builds and installs renewable energy solar power systems for residential, commercial and utility clients.

"Do you want to help your finances or help reduce carbon emissions?" asks SkyFire field supervisor and lead electrician Forrest Tymchuk.

"It's a tough choice, but don't worry, you can do both with solar power."

True that.

The price of solar power systems have dropped dramatically over the past decade making it more affordable for more home and business owners to start harvesting the sun.

Home and business owners can pay off the cost of a solar system and end up making money by having no electricity bills and getting paid for excess electricity they sell to the utility grid.

"SkyFire has always put the priority on the customer and delivering the system that meets their goals and needs first," says Bryce.

"With the goal of transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities and the planet, there are no other solar companies like SkyFire Energy in Western Canada."

Daniel Graham is a SkyFire solar sales specialist.

"Solar power has never been more accessible than it is today," he says.

"The Canadian government has rolled out the Greener Homes program that allows homeowners to not only receive up to $5,000 rebate, but also up to $40,000 interest-free loan over 10 years to cover the costs of energy efficiency projects on their primary home."

In addition to numerous residential solar power systems in the Okanagan, SkyFire is also proud to have designed and installed systems for the Veda student residence at UBC Okanagan and the Naramata Seniors Association.
