The Kelowna neighbourhood that's fast-growing and full of opportunity

There’s no question that Kelowna has been growing and expanding over the last several years, and it’s not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon. Whether searching for somewhere to pursue an education, raise a family, retire or just have some fun, Kelowna appears to be an increasingly popular place to call home.

More people, of course, means we need more places to live. New developments are popping up all over the city, and new neighbourhoods are being created.

There are several benefits to moving into a developing neighbourhood, like having a say in the location of your home, getting to create your dream home plan, and watching your home's resale value increase as the neighbourhood grows.

Another, more personal, benefit of buying in a up-and-coming neighbourhood is that they often become tight-knit communities. You and your neighbours are all in the same boat - you're living somewhere new and are eager to start making new connections with those around you. There are no pre-existing, impenetrable friendship circles or unspoken community rules to abide by. It's a chance to start fresh and build new relationships.

Where can you reap these types of benefits in Kelowna? Just 20 minutes up the highway from downtown, the area near Kelowna’s airport is burgeoning with opportunity. This part of town was a rather barren not long ago, but is quickly growing into a real community. Complete with places to shop, eat, learn and live, this neighbourhood is becoming sought after as it offers all the benefits of classic Okanagan living, not far from town.

The Airport Village has surely had a large impact, with a grocery store, restaurants, pharmacy and even a hairdresser, making life much more practical for those living in the area.

There is also close access to both UBCO and Aberdeen Hall for students, so families with children attending these schools enjoy the convenience of living nearby.

The area is also abundant with forests, trails and golf courses, so outdoors enthusiasts don’t have to venture far to get their fill of exercise.

Amenities, schools and the great outdoors are all wonderful, but what really makes a community is the people who live there. New housing developments like University Heights are making this possibility real.

It’s a new hillside development off of Academy Way with over 200 single family home lots by Ovation Homes, featuring sweeping views and customizable home plans. This sub-division offers room to grow and income helper opportunities.

Choose your lot, choose your plan, and customize it however you'd like. The planning and construction is all taken care of by Ovation Homes, but completely to your taste. Enjoy the quiet convenience of being sort-of-out-of-town-but-not-really, having everything you need nearby, and being a short drive to the city’s centre.
