A massive fire broke out on the roof of the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas Saturday afternoon billowing black smoke over the strip.

The Clark County Fire Department responded to the blaze just after noon on July 25th. The fire was located on the roof top pool deck and sent trees and cabanas up in flames. One person has been sent to hospital but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

According to the fire department, there is very little damage to the hotel building and the fire looks contained to just the roof. Photos of the two alarm blaze have been posted to Twitter and what could have been a very tragic fire was thankfully quickly controlled by firefighters.
There’s no word yet as to the cause of the fire.
