A bus crash in Cuba has killed seven people and critically injured another five.
The bus was carrying tourists and local travellers in the far east of Cuba, on a road between the cities of Baracoa and Guantanamo.
According to state media, the bus was carrying 18 Cubans and 22 tourists, including some from Canada.
Other tourists were from Holland, Great Britain, France and Mexico.
The names and nationalities of those killed and critically injured haven’t been released.
Radio Guantanamo learned from the driver of the bus that he lost control on the wet and winding road.
This is nothing new for Cuba, as the country’s highways are poorly lit, narrow and rutted with huge potholes.
In 2018, there were 11,187 accidents resulting in 750 deaths nad 7,999 injuries, and Thursday’s crash was the fourth major bus accident of the month.
