I can be anywhere in the world & people will come up & tell me their favorite movie is Goodfellas. Then they always ask what was the best part of making that movie. My response has always been the same…Ray Liotta. pic.twitter.com/3gNjJFTAne

I can’t believe Ray Liotta has passed away. He was such a lovely, talented and hilarious person. Working with him was one of the great joys of my career and we made some of my favorite scenes I ever got to be in. A true legend of immense skill and grace.

Born in 1954, Liotta rose to fame with his role in Something Wild in 1986, which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actor.
He played shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams and a year later, in his most prominent role, Liotta portrayed real-life mobster Henry Hill in the film Goodfellas.
He flexed his comedic chops in films such as Wild Hogs, Observe and Report, and Date Night. Last year, Liotta dove back into the mob movies with his portrayal of Hollywood Dick Moltisanti and Salvatore Moltisanti in the Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark.
His 44-year career as an actor spans over 88 films, 34 TV shows, music videos, video game voice acting and a broadway theatre role.
Liotta passed away in his sleep in the Domincan Republic on Thursday morning. He was there filming Dangerous Waters.
He leaves behind his fiancé Jacy Nittolo, and a daughter.
