Students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School will now be required to wear clear backpacks to school.
Superintendent Robert Runcie announced the rule on Wednesday, one of many measures being put into place after 17 students and teachers were gunned down at the Florida high school in February.
Students won’t have to worry about buying these backpacks, however, as the school will be providing them at no cost.
Other measures now being put into place includes requiring all students and staff to wear identification badges while on campus.
Classroom doors will now be locked at all times and exterior doors and gates will be locked and secured throughout the day.
I know having clear backpacks will help with security, but now all my privacy will be gone. I wish it didn’t come to this. #StonemanDouglas #DouglasStrong #MSDStrong #MarchForOurLives #GreatMillsHighSchool #NeverAgain

The school district also says that the school will conduct emergency preparedness and response training for faculty, staff and students on a regular basis.
Real-time surveillance camera systems are also being implemented at all schools across the district, but that work won’t be completed until June.
Runcie also unveiled a few measures that are in the works for the future, including single point of entry measures for all campus visitors.
Fencing and door systems would be used to limit visitor access to just one entrance at all schools.
