Jeff Bezos is currently the richest man in the world, but he may not be for long.
Today, the founder and CEO of Amazon announced that he and his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Bezos, were getting a divorce.

“As our family and close friends know, after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends,” said a statement tweeted by Jeff.
“We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other. I we had know we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again.”
Although the divorce of the long-time couple seems quite amicable, it does leave a number of questions surrounding their $137-billion fortune.
It’s believed the pair did not sign a prenup when they got married in 1993 and a divorce could reshape the world wealth rankings.
If the couple were to split their wealth equally, it would drop Jeff down to fourth overall on the list.
MacKenzie, on the other hand, would become the richest woman by a large margin with nearly $70 billion to her name.
