A quick road trip to a gas station south of the border may be in order for a number of Canadians over the next 24 hours.
At least that’ll be the case for anyone who has any interest in winning nearly $1 billion dollars CAD.
Oh yes, Powerball fever has hit North America once again, and we’re looking at the second highest jackpot in history.

The jackpot for Wednesday’s draw is now past $700 million USD, which is just shy of $900 million CAD, and it’ll surely rise over the next 36 hours.
Canadians are allowed purchase tickets and win prizes, but we do have to put in a bit of effort if they want to win this mega-jackpot.
The most common move is to make a quick trip over the border to buy tickets in person, but you could also use a service like The Lotter where a representative south of the border buys your tickets for you.

You’ll probably remember the frenzy that the largest jackpot in history caused, when it reached $1.586 USD for the January 13th, 2016 draw.
Thousands of Canadians flooded across the U.S. border to buy lottery tickets for a slim chance at the record breaking jackpot.
Sadly for those Canadians, the three winners were from Tennessee, California and Florida and they each won themselves a cool $528.8 million before taxes.
