President Donald Trump threatens to “totally destroy” North Korea at UN Assembly

At his United Nations speech today, President of the United States, Donald Trump spoke before the countries of the world, declaring that he would “always put America first.”

He spoke out about the threat that North Korea has posed to global peace at the 72nd United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, September 19th.

Politicians and UN leaders shuffled in their seats, showing faces of discomfort as the President said he would "totally destroy North Korea" if necessary. He said that, although the nation has “great strength and patience,” if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, it will.

He referred to the North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un, as “Rocket man,” saying that he “is on a suicide mission for himself and his regime.”

“The scourge of our planet today is a small group of rogue regimes that violate every principle on which the United Nations is based,” Trump said. “They respect neither their own citizens nor the sovereign rights of their countries.”

Trump called on countries to halt trade with North Korea and stop its nuclear program.

“No one has shown more contempt for other nations and for the well-being of their own people than the depraved regime in North Korea.”

Trump said that the regime is responsible for the “starvation deaths of millions of North Koreans and for the imprisonment, torture, killing, and oppression of countless more.”
