The newly released horror movie, It, has everyone talking, and probably sleeping with the lights on for awhile too.
It is proving to be a global phenomenon, with a gross of more than $218 million domestically in its second week, making it the largest September release ever.
“When I wrote the book I thought to myself, I want to take and American town and have the whole thing be haunted,’ says King in an interview.
“I wanted the spirit of that creature to have infected the spirit of this whole town,”

The film, adapted from the popular horror novel by Stephen King, grossed $370 million globally, prompting many to call it a “global phenomenon.”
