There is plenty of good stuff to watch on T.V. this weekend.
However, it's all garbage television compared to the event that will be broadcasted on the Discovery Channel this weekend.
Michael Phelps, the greatest swimmer of all time, will be racing a great white shark.
The race, or stunt if you'd rather call it that, is part of the Discovery Channel's annual Shark Week festivities.
“An event so monumental no one has ever attempted it before,” reads the press release from the Discovery Channel. “The world’s most decorated athlete takes on the ocean’s most efficient predator.”
Phelps has said in the past that sharks are his favourite animal in the world, but nobody realized that meant he would one day race one.
In order to make the race a bit more fair, Phelps will be wearing a monofin, which is like a giant single flipper almost like a mermaid costume.
The rest of the race's details, however, are still a bit of a mystery.
All will be revealed during the special television event on Sunday at 8 p.m. on the Discovery Channel.
