Midsummer Music Jam coming up Wednesday

Music in the Park will have a little something extra this week with an extended lineup and several additions to the usual food truck offerings for the annual Midsummer Music Jam on Wednesday

Emerging artist Daylen James will open for the top-selling Canadian country band The Road Hammers, while 11 food trucks join the party for a celebration of local street food. Food trucks will be serving up great eats starting at 5 p.m. and the free outdoor concert gets underway at 7 p.m.

Lead sponsor, BCLC, is also asking concert-goers to support wildfire evacuees by bringing donations of nonperishable food items or personal care products such as toothbrushes, towels or face wipes.

Donations collected will go to the Kamloops Food Bank, which has been supporting both displaced residents staying in Kamloops and shipping donations to remote areas in need. They’ll also be delivering needed items to residents as they reenter their communities.

Evacuees will also get to eat for free. Meal vouchers for the food trucks can be picked up at the BCLC tent on the night of.
