Riverdale star finds Vancouver quite 'boring'

While many gush over B.C.'s coastal city, it's not for everyone apparently.

On Live with Kelly and Ryan, Riverdale star, K.J. Apa told the hosts that he finds the City of Vancouver "boring."

He added, "the city’s not the biggest city in the world. Everything kind of shuts early as well which is - I guess is good, it keeps you…"

Ryan Seacrest finished his sentence with, “It keeps you coming to work the next day."

The star acknowledged the food was "really good" and he was a big fan of the gym where he spends a great deal of time at on a daily basis.

But Vancouver fans of Riverdale weren't pleased to hear their city dissed on live television.

"Really disappointed in how you come into our city and call it boring. I'm a big fan of the show but this has made many Vancouverites upset," stated a fan on Instagram.

Other fans felt he should take action either by apologizing, learning some manners or by leaving the city.

A few commentors, chose instead to lighten the mood a little.

"Is this a reference to me?" asked one commentor.

During a lengthy day of shooting in September, the Riverdale star was involved in a late-night car crash.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the 20-year-old fell asleep at the wheel on his way home from the set and struck a pole sometime after midnight.

Apa was discharged from hospital without any serious injuries, but his car was destroyed in the process.

Originally from New Zealand, Apa plays Archie on the hit show, which is currently in its second season.

The west coast city might not be everyone's favourite, but it is certainly well-loved by the Rock.

He's more than a month into shooting Skyscraper and is often found meeting up with fans at all hours of the day.

When he first arrived in Vancouver, he took to Instagram to show off the west coast scenery and reminisce about his earlier days in Vancouver.

Tears and all. Bottom line, I’m a grateful and lucky SOB to have the greatest fans on earth. Time is my most valued currency these days and I’m always on the go, so I appreciate these students (or anyone for that matter) taking time out of their busy lives to wait patiently for hours while I finished up our #SkyscraperMovie production on the campus of University of British Columbia. I just love my guy in the back of the group jumping up and down like he just slammed a Rock size amount of caffeine and tequila. Good to meet y’all. Keep working hard in school and don’t be like Uncle DJ and get placed on academic probation after his first semester in college. ***editors note: for the record, Uncle DJ bounced back and became Academic Captain two years later of our beloved Miami Hurricane football team. #UBCLuv #TheU 🙌🏾

Who knows, maybe the Rock will take Apa under his wing.
