Lack of precipitation at Big White could change heading into the weekend

Big White Ski Resort hasn’t received any new snow over the last 24 hours and the alpine snow base remains at 89 centimetres.

That doesn’t mean we won’t see some of the white stuff falling at the mountain soon, as there is snow in the forecast for this weekend.

Light snow is expected to fall Saturday through Sunday with temperatures staying well below freezing.

For now, however, we just have the cold weather part of the formula, as it’s -12°C to start the day on the hill.

Visibility is unlimited, skies are clear and there’s little to no wind to tell you about.

Big White currently has eight lifts open to serve 47 runs.

If you do head up to the mountain for some skiing or snowboarding today, consider sticking around for trivia at the Moose Lounge in Happy Valley Day Lodge, which starts at 7 p.m. tonight.

Conditions are always changing and the weather is unpredictable in the Okanagan Valley, so be sure to visit the Big White website for the most up to date snow report.
