Health officials have reported 120 new cases across the province, with a majority of them coming from Fraser Health.
Fraser Health reported 53 new cases and Interior Health reported 43.
There were 13 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health region.
Island Health and Northern Health, meanwhile, both saw five new COVID-19 cases.
BC currently has an active 1,451 COVID-19 cases, with 131 people currently in hospital and 44 of those individuals in critical care.
Unfortunately, there was one additional COVID-19-related death in British Columbia in the past 24 hours, which has brought the provincial death toll to 1,739.
As of June 17, BC has reached a milestone of 76.5% of all adults in BC having been immunized, with 74.8% or everyone 12 or older having received their first vaccine.
There have been 4,231,871 doses of all three COVID-19 vaccines administered in BC with 768,008 of those being second doses, with 62,237 vaccines being administered within the past 24 hours.
“We will continue to watch the ongoing studies, what is the optimal interval, how long does that protection last after you have got your second dose, and those are things that we will be watching very carefully as we go into the fall,” said Dr. Bonnie Henry in today’s statement.
There has also been an indication that there will be a reduction in Pfizer vaccines being received in the first two weeks of July, but deliveries are expected to make up for it in the last two weeks of July.
There is also been a confirmation of a large shipment of Moderna coming to BC this week.
