Kelowna's Bernard Avenue was buzzing on Saturday, July 22nd, as thousands flocked downtown to take in the annual Downtown Kelowna Block Party.
With Bernard Ave closed off to vehicle traffic, multiple businesses reported having very busy days with plenty of smiling faces stopping by both their booths and stores.
"It was awesome, one of the best days we've had in this location," said Arden from Frock & Fellow. "It was for sure busier than usual, all kinds of people and everyone was in a great mood."
Mosiac Books, Blackfish Apparel, and Urban Distilleries also reported enjoying the great atmosphere downtown and having a very busy day.
Some downtown employees noted that parking was more difficult on Saturday than usual and information regarding whether parking was free or not was confusing.
To clarify, Downtown Kelowna Association reminds drivers that while the block party is amazing, it does not qualify as a "special event", which means parking in the Chapman and Library plaza parkades is free.
The Downtown Kelowna Block Party attracts over 15,000 people to Bernard Ave. and offers over 100 vendor booths along the street.
