Stober Group releases 'fly-over' video of new Landmark 7 tower

The Stober Group kicked-off the Level Up Leadership conference, hosted on Friday, Sept. 27, with a video featuring drone footage of Kelowna and the Landmark District.

Featured within the video is an animation of what will be the newest addition to the Landmark District, the 23-storey Landmark 7 tower, which upon completion will be the largest commercial office tower between Vancouver and Calgary.

A collaboration between the Stober Group, WSP and NowProductions (a division of the NowMedia Group), the video’s intention is to highlight the benefits of doing business in Kelowna and specifically, the Landmark District.

“We are passionate about where we work, live and play and believe the Landmark District and our region is capable of attracting leading tech companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Slack and Hootsuite,” said Dave McAnerney, COO of Stober Group.

“The recent news of Rogers Communications establishing a call center in the Landmark District and bringing 350 new jobs to Kelowna next year really gives us reasons to believe that.”

The animated fly-over is a result of new technology being utilized to superimpose the plans for Landmark 7 into the live captured drone footage, thanks to the skills of key consultants on the project from Meiklejohn Architects, Evolve and WSP.

“We believe the video speaks to what can be accomplished in a very collaborative business environment,” said Karen Montgomery of NowMedia.

“Watching it really connects you with the emotion and the passion of the Stober Group’s accomplishments and excites you about the future, making you want to be a part of that story.”

Having evolved over the last several years to welcome leading tech companies such as Disney and QHR, the Landmark District is believed to be on it’s way to becoming the region's technology centre.

With growth comes space, and now sitting at 250,000 square feet of leasable space in Landmark 7, the team at Stober are highly focused on welcoming new businesses to the city.

“We continue to incorporate leading designs that support the needs of growing tech companies, including back-up power generation and campus-wide access to Kelowna’s Dark Fiber network,” said Scott Wandler, director of leasing for commercial properties.
