The sky is the limit for the Village of Kettle Valley where 18 years after being established, its first million dollar lot has been sold.
Located in The Highlands neighbourhood, the lot is just under 1.5 acres in size and will boast a beautiful estate home.
Steve Wells, President and GM of Kettle Valley Holdings, feels the sale is a testament of how far the community has come over the years.
“Over the years, this is how we have evolved,” said Wells. “Property values have consistently gone up here and we’re a proven community now. A lot of people want to be up here.”
The Village of Kettle Valley was first founded in 1996 when Kelowna had a population of just 90,000. Back then, lots in Kettle Valley were selling for $56,900 and homes could be purchased for as low as $191,300.
Seven years later, in 2003, Kettle Valley sold its first million dollar home. It was designed and constructed by Kentland Homes.
“We have many residents who buy up and want to stay in the community,” said Wells. “They see their property values are constantly going up and that’s important.”
Wells couldn’t go into specifics about the new residence in the Village of Kettle Valley but did say it will be “quite a home”.
