1. Justin Trudeau accused of eating a bagel in the House of Commons

Things got a little weird in the house of Commons on Wednesday. During a filibuster, Conservative MP Scott Reid accused a number of Liberal MPs of eating in the House, which is against the rules. That included Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who Reid said was eating a bagel. Trudeau apologized, but said he was eating a chocolate bar, not a bagel.


2. NCAA March Madness begins today

It’s a special time of year for sports fans. NCAA March Madness begins today with 16 basketball games throughout the day. By the end of Friday, the field of 64 will be narrowed down to 32 teams. Over the next few weeks, that field will be narrowed down even more and a new NCAA basketball champion will be crowned in April.


3. New Zealand will ban all types of semi-automatic guns

Less than a week after a terrorist attack that killed 49 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is taking action. She announced that the country would be implementing a ban on military-style semi-automatics and assault rifles. The new gun laws are expected to be in place by next month.


4. Man in police custody after driving erratically through uOttawa campus

Police in Ottawa have taken a man into custody after he was seen driving a minivan erratically through the uOttawa campus. Several vehicles were damaged, but there were thankfully no reported injuries after the ordeal. A number of people were able to catch the man on video as he sped and drifted around campus.


5. Flume returns with a new mixtape

Popular Australian DJ and producer Flume has returned with new music after a lengthy absence. Three years after dropping his hit LP ‘Skin’, the 27-year-old surprised fans with a new 38-minute mixtape on Wednesday. It’s called ‘Hi, This Is Flume’ and it features 17 songs, accompanied by visualizer created by Jonathan Zawada.
