All 12 innocent souls that lost their lives during the United States’ latest mass shooting have been identified. The victims range in age from 18 to 54-years-old and one of them was even a survivor of last October’s mass shooting a country music festival in Las Vegas. His mom made a tearful plea for gun control on Thursday.

2. Suspect dead following knife attack in Melbourne

In Melbourne, where there’s gun control, a man reportedly set his car on fire before attacking people with a knife. Police confirmed that the 31-year-old suspect was shot by authorities and has since died in hospital. One other person died and two others were injured from stab wounds.

3. Joe Thornton plays his 1,500th NHL game

Before last night, only 18 players in NHL history had played 1,500 games in the league. The Scottish Government made a historic announcement on Thursday. Scotland is the first country in world history to have a compulsory LGBTQ inclusive education in the national curriculum. The announcement comes after three years of campaigning from the Time for Inclusive Education Campaign, who calls it a monumental victory.

5. A wildfire is ripping through Northern California

Wildfires may be a distant memories for British Columbians as the cold weather and even snow moves in to some areas. That’s not the case for Californians, however, and a now 20,000 acre wildfire is wreaking havoc in the northern part of the state. Evacuations are well underway and many houses and other structures have been lost already.
