The World Health Organization has issued a global alert after four cough syrup products were linked to the deaths of 66 children. The syrups, made in India by Maiden Pharmaceuticals, could be responsible for acute kidney injuries, the WHO said.

The UK could experience blackouts during peak usage hours this winter if gas supplies run low, the firm that manages the country's power grid has said.
