Outdoor adventure enthusiasts will want to check out a new film festival that is set to debut in Kelowna this week.
The Adventurers, Wanderers and Explorers Film Festival (AWEFF) will be hosted at the Rotary Centre for the Arts on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
Organizers say it will be an exhilarating showcase of adventure films, engaging storytelling and dynamic cultural exchange, all set within the world of outdoor adventure.
The new film festival’s mission is to promote an understanding and appreciation of cherished and wild outdoor spaces, making Kelowna a perfect spot for it to make its debut.
Festival director Joel Perrella says the inaugural showcase marks the beginning of an exciting new tradition in the city’s cultural landscape.
“We are thrilled to introduce AWEFF to the community and offer a platform for discovering exceptional independent films and connecting with the talented individuals behind them,” he explained.
Perrella promises that a few of the films featured at the inaugural AWEFF "will have you jumping out of your seat.”
In addition to a thoughtfully curated selection of films showcasing the creativity of independent filmmakers, the festival will also feature talks from sponsors and networking opportunities.
