Saturday

Day Trip to Vernon!

Coffee at the Lake House Coffee Shop in Lake Country where we will take a peek at the attached art gallery. And, it's free!

Take a hike along BX Creek and Falls Trail. It is approximately a two hour return time. This cedar-lined trail leads to a waterfall!

Lunch at Eatology - The buddha bowl is amazing as are the macaroons!

Visit Davidson Orchard

Tip: Apparently, they have the best canned salsa recipe ever that I’m going to try this fall!

Planet Bee Honey Farm - Over 20 honey samples to try, cute gift shop and lots of awesome, natural bee products!

Coffee at Ratio.

Sunday

Morning: Have the grandparents over for tea. They don’t live close by? Write letters and draw pictures to send, it’ll make their day!

Afternoon: Hike Knox Mountain - Invite the whole family and take some family pictures at the lookout

Monday

Afternoon: Shop Pandosy Street. Don’t miss: Frakas, Scallywags, Ginger Lily, Blue Ginger, The Wardrobe, Cranberry Junction, Pretty Lil Things, and Lily Blue

Lunch at The Marmalade Cat Cafe.

Tuesday

Morning: Family bocci ball competition!

Afternoon: Visit Kettle Valley Playground at Quilchena Park. If it’s raining, see a matinee at the theatre!

If you’re already in the Kettle Valley area, it’s not too far to visit Carmelis goat farm! Kids will love seeing the goats and trying the cheesy samples. Don’t forget the amazing goat gelato.

Wednesday

Mama's day off ~ Treat yo’ self!

Leave the littles with your trusty babysitter and get some ‘me’ time with these suggestions:

Coffee

Pedicure

Shoe shopping

Pilates class or hit the trails at Kuiper’s Peak Mountain Park for some zen

Lunch at your favourite local spot with the girls

Now that you’re a rejuvenated soul, plan family games night. Make popcorn and let everyone choose their favourite family board game. It’ll be endless games of Hungry, Hungry Hippos and Kerplunk over here.

Thursday

Morning: French toast and puzzles!

Afternoon: Mini golf tourney! This is a great option for a day with iffy weather since you can golf outside or inside.

Evening: Jazz night at Rotary Center for the Arts from 5-7pm by donation, kiddies stay with grandma.

Friday

Morning: Oatmeal and berries with colouring books and stickers!

Afternoon: Black Mountain hike (20 minutes) This gem is located in Blue Sky, just past the round basketball court. Stunning views await at the top.

Saturday

Morning: Visit the closest nursery and get that garden planning going! I’ll never forget the satisfaction of growing my first vegetable, peas, with my dad. Even as a kid under five, I had this feeling that I’d contributed to the world. Gardening is such a fun family activity with nutritious rewards!

Afternoon: Build a Mason Bee home at the Laurel Packing House from 1 pm - 3:30 pm. Drop-in, by donation, bring your own 1 litre milk carton. Pollination information talk at 2 pm

Sunday

Last day of spring break

Make sure you feel prepared for back to school by getting the grocery shopping, meal prepping and signing the kids’ homework done early so you can enjoy the rest of the day.

Have you kids make a gratitude list. Studies are constantly proving the correlation between gratitude and greater happiness. Help kids with their back-to-school anxieties how to reflect on spring break and write a list of everything they’re thankful for.
