Police in the BC Interior had to be very cautious when dealing with a gunman on Friday.
According to Williams Lake RCMP, at 9:30 am, officers responded to calls of gunshots near Dog Creek Road and Bond Lake Road. It was reported that a woman in a silver Jeep had been firing shots near residences with a long gun.
Officers located the suspect vehicle on a trail near Bond Road. Upon arrival, police saw a man standing at the driver's side door of the vehicle.
When the man was ordered to get down, he got in the Jeep and started to drive away.
As they were following the vehicle, police noticed the woman in the passenger seat was pointing a gun out the window. She appeared to be aiming and getting ready to fire.
"Due to the possibility of continued gunfire, police made the decision to immediately stop the suspect vehicle," wrote RCMP. "The police vehicle made contact with the rear of the Jeep and the driver stopped within a short distance."
"The driver was immediately arrested without further incident and the passengers, who were youths, were safely returned to their mother."
Due to the severity of the incident, the suspects are being held in custody until their court appearances. They are being investigated on a number of weapons and impaired driving charges.
