BC nurse suspended for sharing 'explicit' video of fellow staff member

A nurse in the BC Interior has been suspended for reportedly showing a “private and explicit” video of a staff member to other staff without consent.

In a consent agreement posted by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, Justin Fountain of Kamloops has been handed a two week suspension and public reprimand.

According to the agreement, the incident happened between Jan. 5, 2023 and July 21, 2023.

Fountain, a licenced practical nurse, voluntarily agreed to the disciplinary action.

He will be required to participate in remedial education related to medication administration, documentation, ethics, boundaries and professionalism.

The BCNM said an inquiry committee was satisfied that the disciplinary action will protect the public from future incidents.
