Search and rescue crews work together to save 'multi-trauma patient' in the Interior

Search and Rescue crews had to work together to save an injured sledder who needed help while out at Hendrix Lake.

South Cariboo SAR and North Shore SAR banded together to recover the "multi-trauma patient."

They had to travel to 5,000 feet in elevation where they found the injured individual and their party near a lit campfire.

Thankfully, Talon Helicopters responded to the area with an ER Physician and Anesthesiologist on board.

They were then able to help the patient and get them to a nearby hospital.

"The team responded to the subject's location in about 1.5 hours and were able to land nearby. South Cariboo SAR was on scene providing first aid."

"The subject was loaded into the helicopter and flown to Williams Lake where she was transferred to BCEHS."
