It has now been three-and-a-half weeks since vaccine cards were implemented in British Columbia and the vaccination rates continue to slowly creep up across the province.
In the Interior Health region, there are two local health areas (LHA) with a first dose rate over 90% in Revelstoke (92%) and Golden (90%), while the lowest is Enderby (70%).
Revelstoke also leads the way in second doses, as 83% of the population in the small mountain town is considered fully vaccinated, according to Oct. 5 data from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
Windermere, Trail, Southern Okanagan, Golden and Summerland are the only other LHAs with a second dose vaccination rate of 80% or higher.
On the flip side, Enderby also has the lowest second dose vaccination rate at just 62%, while 12 other LHAs are at 70% or lower in the IH region.
In the Thompson-Okanagan, there’s a wide range of vaccination rates for LHAs, ranging from Enderby on the low end to Southern Okanagan on the high end.
Here’s a full look at the first and second dose vaccination rates for all LHAs in the Thompson-Okanagan (as of Oct. 5, sorted by second dose rate):
