Health officials reported 456 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 108 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 259 were in the Fraser Health region, with 35 in Island Health, 30 in Interior Health, and 20 in Northern Health.
In a written statement, Dr. Bonnie Henry also confirmed two new deaths, bringing BC's death toll to 1,338.
There are currently 237 people in hospital, 64 of whom are in ICU.
BC's active case count now sits at 4,668, with 7,924 people under active public health monitoring.
To date, 230,875 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC, 62,608 of which are second doses.
“Kindness is staying away from friends and family, it is offering thanks to the store clerk who reminds us to follow their safety plan, it is offering a smile – even behind our masks and assuming the best of everyone around us," said Dr. Bonnie Henry in a written statement.
“Just as our health-care system has risen to the challenge of protecting and caring for people who have become ill with this virus, so too are countless others working hard to get people immunized as quickly and safely as possible."
Health Officials are scheduled to conduct a live press conference on the pandemic on Thursday at 1 pm.
