For the first time in over three weeks, there’s an active COVID-19 outbreak in the BC Interior.
Interior Health declared the outbreak today at Nelson Jubilee Manor long-term care home.
As of Thursday afternoon, one patient and a pair of staff members had tested positive for the virus.
A team of infection control and communicable disease specialists are working with staff members of the long-term care home to ensure all the appropriate measures are in place.
That includes closing the facility to admissions, discharges and visitors.
“I want to thank the staff at Nelson Jubilee Manor for their quick identification of positive cases in the care home and for their ongoing work to protect residents,” said Dr. Fatemeh Sabet, IH’s medical health officer.
“Our teams are working together to contain this outbreak, and support the residents and staff who tested positive for COVID-19.”
Nelson Jubilee Manor is a long-term care home with 39 private rooms that is operated by the health authority.
