After surpassing 300 active cases on Tuesday, Interior Health almost hit the 400 active cases in the same week.
The health authority reported 47 new cases today, bringing the BC Interior to 399 active cases right before the weekend.
It brings the region’s total number of cases to 1,538 since the pandemic began.
Hospitalizations continue to rise, as there are now 10 people in hospital due to COVID-19 and one of them is in intensive care, but today didn’t see the same big jump as Wednesday or Thursday.
IH also provided an update on the Revelstoke community cluster today, which has grown from 22 to 29 cases over the last 24 hours.
“Cases at this time have an average age in the low 30s,” said an IH release. “Additional cases are not unexpected as the public health investigation continues.”
The health authority also reminded people to limit all non-essential travel.
“This means, sticking to your own communities, skiing at your own ski hill, only going to restaurants with your family bubble, as well as following all other public health safety precautions,” the release said.
The next IH update won’t come until Monday.
