Today, Interior Health announced that 114 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the region over the past 24 hours.
IH has now had 4,970 total cases since the pandemic began and 948 are currently active.
Not only is today's count the highest daily total yet for the BC Interior, it also marks the first time IH has had more daily cases than Vancouver Coastal Health.
Only Fraser Health had more cases to report today with 225.
Currently, there are 38 people hospitalized due to COVID-19 in the BC Interior and 10 of them are in intensive care.
Fortunately, there were no new deaths due to COVID-19 over the last day, which leaves the region’s total at 44.
