Interior Health has confirmed that the Tiki Bar on Okanagan Lake was ordered to shut down due to COVID-19 violations.
According to IH, the bar located on the beach of Okanagan Lake Resort was ordered to close by the authority on Sept. 10 and a $345 fine was issued on Sept. 14.
“Due to non-compliance with Provincial Health Officer orders, Interior Health (IH) ordered the Okanagan Beach Club Tiki Bar in Kelowna closed. The order was issued to reduce COVID-19 transmission,” said Interior Health in a statement.
“The order notes the premises do not have adequate measures in place to protect the public from contracting COVID-19.”
The ticket was issued to Ryan Hardgraves, however, no specific offenses have been listed.
A post from the Okanagan Beach Club page on Sept. 11 confirmed the news while suggesting the closure was only for the season.
