A string of thefts have taken place in the Lake Country area over the past couple of weeks.
Police are now issuing a warning to residents of the Central Okanagan, telling them to lock and to remove their valuables from their vehicles.
“Reports indicate that someone is targeting unlocked vehicles at night but the suspect(s) have also broken windows to gain access,” said Constable Kris Clark in a press release from the Kelowna RCMP. “In one report, an unlocked home was entered while the occupants slept."
“The most common items stolen include credit cards, cash, and wallets but have also included notebook computers and other electronics.”
Several reports were made of thefts from vehicles in the Okanagan Centre area on October 3rd alone.
