8 spots where you can see Canada Day fireworks in the Okanagan

There were lots of disappointed people when the Canada Day fireworks show in Kelowna was cancelled last week.

Even though the reasons are clear and logical, it feels like the celebrations will be missing an element without the sky lighting up with explosion to cap the day off.

<who>Photo Credit: Facebook</who>The Canada Day fireworks show in Osoyoos is considered one of the best in the country.

However, postponing the fireworks is the best option for Kelowna and it gives you a chance to check out one of the many other fireworks displays happening in the Okanagan this Canada Day.

Not only that, but you’ll still be able to catch Kelowna’s incredible fireworks show on August 5th as you celebrate the BC Day long weekend.

Here are eight other places you can catch some pyrotechnics this weekend, highlighted by Osoyoos, which has consistently been called one of the top Canada Day fireworks shows in Canada.

CITY LOCATION TIME NOTES

For the Friday night fireworks in West Kelowna, the City is asking motorists to park in town and walk down to watch the fireworks at Gellatly Bay. The City also suggests carpooling.

The City of West Kelowna will be closing Gellatly Road to vehicle traffic from the yacht club exit to Boucherie Road, starting at 8 p.m. and lasting until about midnight, to accommodate the large crowd size.
