‘Avengers: Endgame’ rewriting record books with unprecedented debut weekend

Avengers: Endgame was expected to do well in theatres and was not unexpectedly breaking records — but it has managed to shatter over 20 records in its first several days in theatres.

So far, the all-star cast presented under the Marvel banner has raked in $1.2 billion with its global debut, reports Box Office Mojo.

Marvel’s newest movie has also broken 25 records in its short time on the screen, knocking off Star Wars: The Force Awakens for largest Thursday previews — $60 million and $57 million, respectively — as well knocking off its prequel Avengers: Infinity War on several record categories: largest Saturday, largest Sunday, and largest domestic opening weekend.

The movie is showing promise in the box office with an increasing number of records being broken daily. How far will it go?
