Cirque du Soleil's incredible acrobatic ice show is coming to Kelowna
The exciting spectacle known as Cirque du Soleil will be returning to the Okanagan next year.
The entertainment company will come to Kelowna in the spring to perform six productions of Crystal over the course of four days.
This show is a little different, however, as it's all done on ice and is essentially a jaw-dropping mix of figure skating and acrobatics.
Crystal will be at Prospera Place from Thursday, May 22, through Sunday, May 25.
There will be 7 pm shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, along with a 3 pm matinee on Saturday and shows at 1 pm and 5 pm on Sunday.
Since 2017, Crystal has dazzled more than two-million people in around 150 cities worldwide, blending the art of skating with adrenaline-inducing acrobatics and aerial feats.
Cirque du Soleil calls it a “one-of-a-kind production” that brings the circus arts to the ice and produces an unforgettable journey for the audience.
“Crystal pushes the boundaries of possibility within the circus arts,” explains a release from Cirque du Soleil. “The show highlights Cirque du Soleil’s creativity in a new way and encourages audiences to find the magic of the everyday.”
It adds that the show, which was created by Shana Carroll and Sebastien Soldevila, will take attendees on an exhilarating journey of self-discovery full of whimsy and wonder.
Tickets to see Crystal in Kelowna, which is an all-ages show, are now available exclusively for Cirque Club members, which you can join for free online.
General tickets go on sale to the public on Monday, Dec. 9.
