Country music fans in the Okanagan are smiling as it has been announced that superstar group Little Big Town is coming to the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) in Penticton.
After a sold out U.S. tour covering more than 20 cities, the Grammy-award winning foursome Little Big Town will extend The Breakers Tour into Canada.
They will perform on March 1, 2019, with acclaimed opening acts Midland and Ashley McBryde booked as opening acts.
The SOEC issued a news release Friday morning saying Little Big Town’s highly-anticipated 10-city Canadian run begins Feb. 14 in London, Ont. and will conclude March 2 in Abbotsford.
All Canadian shows will feature Midland and Ashley McBryde.
Tickets for The Breakers Canada Tour go on sale on Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. local time, excluding London and Winnipeg. London and Winnipeg will follow at noon local time.
Little Big Town - consisting of members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook - have captured multiple Grammy, American Country Music (ACM), Country Music Association (CMA) and American Music Awards (AMA) awards since forming over 20 years ago.
The first entered the music scene over two decades ago with hit songs Boondocks, Bring It On Home, Good As Gone and the Grammy-nominated Little White Church.
Their breakthrough albums Tornado and Pain Killer produced multiple No. 1 singles, including Pontoon, Tornado, and Day Drinking, as well as the 2015 Single of the Year Girl Crush.
Little Big Town’s last studio album, The Breaker, was released in February of 2017 and made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Charts and No.4 on the Billboard 200 chart to critical acclaim, marking the group’s fourth Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album features their Grammy-winning, No. 1 single, Better Man, as well as the country radio hit When Someone Stops Loving You.
Little Big Town is currently the reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year. They were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014 and went onto receive their star on the Nashville Walk of Fame in 2017.
Also in 2017, Little Big Town hosted a sold-out, year-long artist residency at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, marking the venue’s first-ever, year-long residency in its 125-year history.

While Little Big Town have enjoyed an incredible 20-year run of success, Midland is just starting to make its mark.
Midland is a Grammy-nominated and ACM award-winning New Vocal Group of the Year trio hailing from Dripping Springs, Texas.
The band consists of lead vocalist Mark Wystrach, lead guitarist Jess Carson and bass player Cameron Duddy.
Rooted in tradition in both sound and style, the band released their critically-acclaimed freshman album, On The Rocks in 2017 to rave reviews from notable outlets like Los Angeles Times and Rolling Stone Country with Washington Post touting the album as “the year’s best country album.”
The album also earned the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top Country Album Sales chart upon release.

Rounding out the killer triple bill is Ashley McBryde, who was recently lauded by The New York Times as “an alluringly flexible singer, fluent in classic country, blues and Southern rock, with a voice that moves easily from tender to tough.”
McBryde caught the attention of some of Nashville’s most raucous entertainers, landing her dates opening for Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, and, most recently, Miranda Lambert and Luke Combs.
The Washington Post raved, "McBryde's blue-collar storytelling and straightforward singing set her apart," including a set during her debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage, notably sharing Girl Goin' Nowhere, the seminal title track from her Jay Joyce-produced album for Atlantic Records/Warner Nashville.
