McDonald’s is introducing a new meal in restaurants across Canada on Tuesday.
After a successful trial in Atlantic Canada, the fast food chain is bringing its fish and chips to a nationwide audience for a time-limited period.
The meal consists of two pieces of battered haddock – caught and packed in Atlantic Canada – alongside fries and tartar sauce.
The haddock are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council as sustainably caught.
"After introducing Fish & Chips in the Atlantic Provinces last year, we are very excited to expand the meal to the rest of Canada this spring," Rob Dick, supply chain officer at McDonald's Canada, said.
"Sourced locally in Atlantic Canada, it's another testament to McDonald's ongoing passion for food, as we continue to evolve our menu options."
McDonald’s said it expects to use about 260,000 pounds of haddock during the period in which the meal is on offer.
