A new donut is coming to Tim Hortons this weekend and it has a great story behind it.
It was created by 26-year-old Special Olympics athlete Tori Ranson and the tasty-looking snack is meant to celebrate Global Day of Inclusion.
Ranson’s donut was chosen from more than 400 submissions and to say it looks delicious would be an understatement.
It features a cruller sliced in half and filled with whipped topping, decorated with vanilla fondant and red sprinkles on top.
It’ll be available on Saturday, July 20 for $1.69 plus tax and all proceeds from sales of Ranson’s donut will go to Special Olympics in Canada.
“Special Olympics has been a huge part of my life for over 12 years,” said Ranson.
“I love the friendships I have found over the years through Special Olympics. I have a lot of great buddies. I can't wait to see people enjoying my donut – I used red sprinkles for Canada."
More than 47,500 children, youth and adults are currently participating in Special Olympics programming across the country.
