How does an overloaded burger, fries and soft serve ice cream cone sound?
Or, angry lettuce wraps followed by Cajun blackened chicken with sticky toffee pudding for dessert?
Or. winter squash salad, a sirloin steak and dessert espresso martini?
Or, Mexican rice balls with chorizo sausage, Mexican ramen with margarita cheesecake mousse for dessert?
All these incredible meal combinations, and more, are available during the 19 glorious culinary days of Taste Around Central Okanagan, Jan. 22 through Feb. 9.
You probably remember Taste Around as Dine Around, the name the restaurant promotion had until it changed it this year.
Whether it's called Taste Around or Dine Around, it's a delicious opportunity to discover or rediscover restaurants with fixed price, three-course deals between $25 and $65.
Taste Around is organized by the BC Restaurant & Foodservices association in conjunction with Tourism Kelowna, food suppliers Syusco and Gordon, American Express, UBER and FortisBC.
It falls in the latter part or January and early February to give restaurants (and diners) a boost in the traditional lull between New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day.
By the way, the aforementioned burger-fries-and-ice-cream feast is BNA Burger's Taste Around 'Two Can Dine for $34.99' special.
You can add on a tasting flight of beers for $6.99.
If that $35 deal of lettuce wraps, Cajun blackened chicken and sticky toffee pudding has you salivating head to upscale casual Earls.
The Taste Around menus also have beverage pairing suggestions.
At Earls that's Selaks Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand to go with the lettuce wraps for $13.50 a glass and the blackened chicken with a $12.75 glass of Quails' Gate Pinot Noir from West Kelowna.
That winter squash salad, steak and dessert espresso martini can be had at Kelly O'Bryan's for $55.
The salad will go nicely with a $12.50 glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and the steak is meant for a $12.75 glass of The Hatch Bury the Hatchet red from West Kelowna.
If you're going Mexican, that three-course meal at Cantina Del Centro is $45. Pair the rice balls with Penticton's Neighbourhood Brewing Way of Life Hazy IPA for $8.50.
The Mexican ramen is a match with Cerveza del Centro, the Mexican-style beer collaboration between Cantina Del Centro and Slackwater Brewing in Penticton.
In all, 56 restaurants in the Central Okanagan are offering Taste Around menus and deals.
They range from fine-dining rooms such as Waterfront Wines, Erica Jane, The Keg and Lakeside Dining at the Hotel Eldorado to casual eateries like Old Spaghetti Factory, Bin 4 Burger Lounge, Turtle Bay Pub, Bohemian Cafe, Central Kitchen & Bar and The Train Station Pub.
There's upscale casual, too, at Cactus Club, Gulfstream at the Four Points by Sheraton, 19 Okanagan Grill and Basil & Mint.
More Mexican at El Taquero Tacos & Tequila and Chilango Modern.
