Harley Davidson motorcycle, drugs and money seized in trafficking investigation

A recent West Shore RCMP investigation into drug trafficking in the area has led to two search warrant executions in neighbouring communities.

On April 23, 2021, the West Shore RCMP Drug Section, with the assistance of Saanich Police Street Crime Unit and Front line officers, including the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Barrington Road, Saanich.

Additional Drug Section members, with the assistance of the Sooke RCMP and the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a second search warrant at a residence on Steeple Chase Road in Sooke.

“In a region like the CRD, with multiple city boundaries, there is a perception that you can move between police jurisdictions and that movement may protect you from police detection,” said Cst. Massey, the West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.

“An investigation like this one shows how our police agencies work together to prevent the proliferation of drug trafficking, which doesn’t stop at jurisdictional boundaries.”

Between the two residences, police seized in excess of three ounces of cocaine and $42,000 in cash. Eight long guns were located stored unsafely.

Multiple pieces of Hell’s Angels support gear, including two shirts and two hats were located. Also seized were two pickup trucks, one automobile, and one Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Criminal charges are being sought, and the investigation is ongoing.
